What is
CDN streaming?
A CDN stores cached versions (temporary copies) of your website’s static content (e.g. videos) in multiple locations that are geographically distributed in different cities and countries around the world. These locations are also known as Point-of-Presence (PoPs) and each have a number of caching servers where your cache is stored on powerful SSDs (hard disk storage). These servers then deliver content to your visitors based on their proximity to the PoPs.
A CDN delivers your content to many locations around the world instead of relying solely on hosting your website. When visitors visit your website, these PoPs provide you with a cached version.
For example, if someone in Australia visits your website hosted in Germany, the content of your website will be delivered to them via a local PoP in Australia. Due to the proximity, the visitor can view your web content faster.

The advantages of a
CDN network
Improves the speed
It reduces bounce rates, improves conversions and enhances the user experience. A CDN stores your static content in a temporary location (your data centers or Point-of-Presence “PoPs”) so that it can be accessed quickly. The servers are usually located closer to where your website user (visitor) makes a request.
Website uptime
If you experience a sudden spike in website traffic, your web hosting will be heavily loaded, which may cause your website to crash. A CDN forwards this traffic spike to its PoPs. This reduces the load on your hosting and as a result, the likelihood of your website going down decreases significantly.
Website security
Most CDNs offer ready-made protection against DDoS and malware attacks. Some providers are also equipped with SSL security, making your website more trustworthy for visitors.
SEO-Vorteile
According to Google, page speed will be an important ranking factor from July 2018. Search engines like Google want to ensure that users from different markets on different devices (including mobile devices) can easily access your website.
Konsistente Benutzererfahrung
Your website users will have a faster load time on all devices, regardless of where they are visiting your website from. Some CDN providers have built-in mobile optimization features to ensure that your content works on mobile devices.
